Pediatric Dentistry is great. I have been taking my two children there for the past ten years. Dr. Joe is wonderful. My kids have not been the easiest patients but Dr. Joe and his staff have always exhibited great patience and caring. I also respect Dr. Joe's expertise and have appreciated his guidance throughout the years. He has always been available for consult and is very professional. I couldn't be happier with the treatment my son received from everyone at Pediatric Dentistry in Concord. We've been struggling for years with my son's dental care as he is a very anxious patient. We visited Children's Hospital in Boston and were still left without any hope he could sit through treatment so when we visited Pediatric Dentistry, I was desperate for help! Dr. Eckstein seemed confident he could make it work and I'm so thrilled to say it went better than I ever could have expected. At Children's, my son couldn't sit through the treatment even with gas and some restraint but Dr. Eckstein made it through 4 treatments in less than an hour with no tears! This possibility seemed impossible! I can't explain the relief we feel that we found the right dentist for our son. My younger son goes regularly for cleanings and he thinks it's so fun. They give the kids fun sunglasses to wear when they get their teeth cleaned, it's actually an enjoyable experience. I highly recommend this practice!
I am absolutely unsatisfied with their attitude. My daughter was their patient for several years, and it just happened that for several months the level of dental insurance went down. So I got 2 numbers: what my insurance would pay and what they wanted me to pay because insurance denied that claim. I understand that these numbers could be different, and I got similar situation with other dental providers. But they were 50% different, and Pediatric Dentistry was the only provider that after my request refused to do any adjustments (other dentists agreed on similar adjustments instantly, with smiles and the words: “Of course, sorry for the trouble!”). Another problem: they added things that were not covered by insurance and that were not necessary at all (nitrogen) – so they were able to charge me in full using their own prices! I understand that dentistry is a business, but I cannot understand when companies like that try to squeeze from you additional relatively small amounts (like tens of dollars!)…
We were first introduced to Pediatric Dentistry in Concord when one of my boys fell and hit a table teeth first. It was an emergency visit. Dr. Hom couldn't have been more competent, caring and supportive in a situation that was a little scary. We've been with Pediatric Dentistry for about 10 years now. The waiting room is pleasant and comfortable, the staff members are friendly and efficient and of course all my kids love Dr. Hom. We've had our share of cavities, teeth pullings and cleanings - all completed easily and efficiently. I like the process as well - kids go in for their appointment and Dr. Hom always takes a minute to say hello and offer an update. I highly recommend Pediatric Dentistry!
